The Swiss initiative "Yes to a future without animal testing" has collected enough signatures to be put to the vote. The aim is to ban animal experiments and the breeding and trade in laboratory animals. The association "IG Tierversuchsverbotsinitiative CH" plans to submit the signatures in mid-November. Despite a recent scandal involving the collection of signatures for popular initiatives, the association is optimistic that the Federal Chancellery's examination of the signatures will run smoothly due to the surplus of votes collected.
